Bridge summer

Summer is around the bend, and even here at TongueTied we have plans, including some fun new features. But chief among our summer aims is telling more people about the game. Here's my summer checklist of people to invite; maybe it will also inspire you.

  1. Someone I haven't spoken to in 10 years. I could just send a long catch-up email or two, but proposing a TongueTied game feels at once less demanding and more sustainable.

  2. Someone I met this year. I've done this once already, and she's now joined my book club. Would it have happened without our neck-to-neck games? Maybe, but I'm not certain.

  3. Someone who taught me something. This is my favorite category. Will it be the person who taught me to write headlines, or the one who taught me to make ratatouille? The person teaching me piano or unicycle?

  4. Someone who grew up in another language. Or even just listening to one. I'm hoping my father, for example, might be lured into flexing his passive Yiddish muscles in a DE-EN match.

  5. My travel companion. I've been in France for a week, and was inspired by signage alone to crank up my French game. But for me May is not summer, so to properly check off this category, I'll have to wait for the next trip.

Whatever summer means to you, we wish you many pleasurable TongueTied experiences within it – in airports and on highways (unless you're at the wheel!), slow and steady or studded with speed rounds, and with friends and languages old and new.

A bientôt,

Rose
